Florence

Florence is an ankle-length linen dress in muted brick red, with a ruffled collar, long sleeves that open into bell cuffs and a deep ruffle at the hem – a pre-Raphaelite silhouette in a fabric made for everyday life. A long row of covered buttons runs down the front, and the skirt is gathered at the waist so it moves softly with every step.

The cut

The bodice is fitted and seamed at the natural waist. From there the skirt falls in soft gathers to the ankle and finishes in a wide ruffle. The sleeves sit close along the arm and widen into ruffled cuffs at the wrist – the detail that gives the dress its movement.

The linen

Florence is cut from 100% linen with a visible natural slub and a matte surface. At 145 g/m² it is light enough for warm days and still has body in the skirt and ruffles. Linen creases softly as you wear it – that is part of its character.

When to wear it

A garden wedding, a summer evening in the countryside, a concert, a walk through the hills – or an ordinary day when you want to dress like the heroine of an old painting. In autumn, wear it with boots and a long wool coat.

Designed by Camilla, sewn in Poland

Florence was designed by Camilla, the founder of Bedra Vintage, and is cut and sewn in our atelier in Poland in sizes XS–XXL. Like every Bedra Vintage piece, it draws on art, history and the European countryside.

This garment is made of 100% linen.

THE FABRIC

We sew our linen pieces from premium European linen, 200 g/m² – a versatile medium weight. The fabric is softened in several mechanical stages, so it is soft and pleasant against the skin from the very first wear: substantial yet light, and very breathable. The colours are deep and rich.

Exceptions: the Florence dress is made of a lighter 145 g/m² linen, and the Willow blouse of a fine 120 g/m² linen.

LINEN CARE

• Wash at 30°C on a gentle or delicate cycle.
• Use a mild detergent suitable for delicate fabrics.
• Wash separately during the first two washes to protect the colour.
• Do not bleach.
• Use a gentle spin cycle and remove the garment promptly after washing.
• Reshape while damp and allow to air dry away from direct sunlight.
• Do not tumble dry, as heat may cause the linen to shrink.
• For the best result, iron the garment inside out while it is still slightly damp.

The model is 170 cm tall and wears size XS.

This garment is made from non-stretch fabric and is not intended to fit tightly. We recommend allowing a little extra room through the bust and waist. If your measurements fall between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size for a more comfortable fit.
